Eligible recipients just need to file a state tax return to receive up to $3,160.
In order to qualify for CalEITC:
- You must be at least 18 years old or having a qualifying child.

Young Child Tax Credit
If you qualify for CalEITC and have a child under the age of six, you may also qualify for an additional tax credit up to $1,000 through the Young Child Tax Credit.
The Federal EITC is a similar cash-back tax credit aimed at putting money back in the pockets of low-to-moderate income families and individuals. You must have a Social Security number to qualify for up to $6,728. You can claim this credit regardless of whether you file single or jointly.
