Susan Talamantes Eggman Takes Oath asNew Assemblymember for 13th Assembly District
Vows to make growth of green jobs industry a top priority
(SACRAMENTO)—Susan Talamantes Eggman (D-Stockton) today was sworn in as the Assemblymember for the newly created 13th Assembly District, which includes the communities of Stockton, Tracy, Mountain House and Thornton. The ceremony was held on the Assembly Floor at the State Capitol at noon.
Eggman is a strong supporter of investing now in the future green economy. “I plan to work with my colleagues toward preparing a work force that can easily adapt to the growing green economy,” she said.
She also plans to pursue legislation that “supports farming and related education as a viable future for the coming generations.”
In addition, she will maintain “a strong focus on health both in developing healthy communities and healthcare as a vital part of our economy.”
“As a former city councilmember,” said Eggman, “I pride myself in being able to work effectively with all different types of people and entities, from developers to environmentalists, from public officials to residents. “I plan to utilize these skills to find the difficult solutions to the varied problems that we as a state currently face.”
The oath of office was administered by the Honorable, Mary Lou Villar de Longoria, Judge, Los Angeles Superior Court.
