SACRAMENTO – Responding to Gov. Jerry Brown’s State of the State address, Assembly Susan Talamantes Eggman issued the following statement.
“There was a lot in the governor’s address to support. In particular, I appreciate his vision for education, and his recognition of the significant challenges faced by educators in communities like Stockton, where we have many bright, talented students who also happen to be English learners, or who struggle outside of school with poverty and instability.
(Sacramento) -- The new legislative session is underway and among the more than three dozen new faces in the California Assembly is Assemblymember Susan Talamantes-Eggman (D-Stockton) from the 13th district. Assemblymember Talamantes-Eggman says the most important issues she wants to address are the ongoing foreclosure crisis and improving the state's economy.
SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Susan Talamantes Eggman joined a bipartisan group of Central Valley legislators calling on Governor Jerry Brown to address the continuing disparity in funding of the state's public safety realignment – which shifted the responsibility for thousands of inmates from the state to counties.
The funding to offset that realignment has not been proportionate, and many counties, particularly in the Central Valley, are receiving much less per inmate than other counties.
