Eggman working with Senators Wolk, Monning on End of Life Option Act

Friday, February 27, 2015

(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Susan Talamantes-Eggman (D-Stockton) has signed on as a principal co-author of Senate Bill 128, the End of Life Option Act, and is its chief advocate in the Assembly. This is a bill to authorize the medical practice of aid-in-dying in California. The legislation is modeled on legislation in Oregon and other states where aid-in-dying has been proven to be effective and successful. During a state capitol news conference when SB 128 was introduced, Assemblymember Eggman said, “People want a range of options. For some people that’s hospice. For some people that’s palliative care. For some people that’s treatment no matter what.” The family of Brittany Maynard and other advocates joined the presser. Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
