Dear Neighbor,
February was a month of meaningful engagement and progress! I held my first town hall in Tracy, where residents shared their thoughts on key issues. I introduced my legislative package to serve California residents better and honored Black History Month by recognizing the contributions of Black leaders in my district. From tackling affordability to strengthening public safety, our work continues to put people first.
Looking ahead, we're excited to welcome new voices through our internship program and remain committed to keeping you informed every step of the way. Thank you for staying engaged - I'm grateful for your support as we work together to create positive change!
Warm Regards,

Rhodesia Ransom

Community Engagement

On Thursday, February 20th, I held my first town hall in Tracy! A full room of constituents joined the conversation on key issues affecting District 13. I am proud to represent my constituents and be their voice at our State Capitol.
Legislative Update

The Utility Reform Act AB13
Reforming California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) for accountability.

Mountain House Rail Access Act AB230
Expanding transportation connections for Mountain House.

The Patient Advocacy Act AB278
Empowering patients through advisory representation.

EV Battery Safety Act AB696
Preparing California for lithium-ion battery recycling and emergencies.

The Water Affordability Act AB1164
Helping low-income households with water bill assistance.
Black History Month Recognitions
Throughout February, I had the privilege of joining the California Black Chamber of Commerce and my colleagues in the California Legislative Black Caucus to celebrate Black entrepreneurship, advocacy, and the ongoing fight for equity. As we reflect on Black history, we remain committed to supporting policies that uplift small businesses, expand economic opportunities, and ensure a more just future for all.

I am proud to recognize Joseph Cannon as the Black Business Owner of the Year.

Black history is not only shaped by renowned figures but also by those whose quiet dedication behind the scenes makes a lasting difference in our communities. This year, I am proud to honor Dr. Clara C. Voss as an Unsung Hero for her unwavering commitment to education and mentoring. Through her tireless efforts, Dr. Voss has transformed countless lives, empowering individuals and creating opportunities that will resonate for generations to come.

I support HR12, which declared February 19, 2025, as a Day of Remembrance in California. It aims to increase public awareness about the unjust exclusion, removal, and incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II.
