The California State Assembly District 13 Internship Program is one of the best ways to learn about the inner workings of your state government and how legislators serve our local community. Assemblymember Ransom is looking for bright, self-motivated, and energetic individuals interested in gaining experience in a State Assembly District Office.

- Fill out and submit our Internship Application
- Ensure that your one-page resume and a cover letter are attached. In your Cover Letter please answer ONE of the following questions:
- What issue or cause do you think is often overlooked by elected officials but is crucial for your community?
- If you were an Assemblymember for a day, what bill would you propose and why?
Our Internship Cycle Deadlines
- Spring 2025 (March-May) Deadline: February 28th, 2025, at 5:00pm (PST)
- Summer 2025 (June-Aug) Deadline: May 16th, 2025, at 5:00pm (PST)
- Fall 2025 (Sept-Dec) Deadline: August 17th, 2025, at 5:00pm (PST)
If you wish to be considered for multiple internship cycles, one form submission and email with your resume and writing sample is sufficient. Please note that only fully completed applications (interest form submission, resume, and cover letter) will be reviewed.
Internships at the District Office are project-based, and the number of interns accepted will depend on current office needs. We welcome applicants at all stages of their education, from high schoolers to college students. We encourage students to apply regardless of their academic level.
