I'm excited to share that six of my bills were signed into law by the Governor this year. Each one aimed at helping working families and keeping our communities strong. I also advocated for a budget allocation of 20 Million dollars from the State of California to stop the spread of the golden mussel that threatens the Delta and our water infrastructure. There is still much to be done and your feedback helps shape the work ahead for next year.
I know there's a lot happening nationally, but please know that my team and I are here to listen, support, and serve you. Wishing you and your loved ones a happy start to the holiday season, I hope to see you soon!
Warmly,

Rhodesia Ransom
Assemblymember, District 13

Legislative Update

Six of my bills have now been signed by the Government and will become law:
- AB 1414 Affordable Internet For All: Stops landlords from locking tenants into expensive internet contracts. Families will have the freedom to choose the provider that works best for their household and budget.
- AB 741 Protecting Foster Youth: Currently, foster youth organizations are only notified every four years if a volunteer is listed on the Child Abuse Central Index. This bill will close this gap by requiring immediate notification.
- AB 899 Supporting Local Jobs and CA-Made Glass: Protects over 1,000 local jobs in California's glass industry by supporting wineries and other businesses in buying California-made bottles instead of relying on foreign imports.
