2026 Young Legislators Program

Young Legislators Program
Designed For Rising Leaders

Inspired by Assemblymember Rhodesia Ransom’s commitment to youth leadership and civic engagement, the Young Legislators Program offers high school seniors in Stockton, Tracy, Mountain House or French Camp a unique, hands-on opportunity to explore the legislative process, strengthen their leadership skills, and give back to their communities through volunteerism and public service.

Over the course of 6 months, young legislators will:

  • Engage with state and local government officials
  • Explore how legislation is drafted and passed
  • Participate in service opportunities across Assembly District 13, Stockton Tracy and Mountain House.
  • Enhance their public speaking, leadership, and collaborative skills
  • Take part in a capstone experience in Sacramento

This free program gives high school seniors the tools and experiences they need to step into leadership. With hands-on learning, students will walk away with real-world skills that prepare them not just for college or careers, but to make a real difference in their communities.

  • Duration: January 2026 - June 2026
