Carlos Villapudua Takes Oath as Newest Assemblymember for the 13th District

Sacramento, California – Carlos Villapudua (D-Stockton) took the oath of office to serve as Assemblymember for the 13th Assembly District today in a special ceremony at the California State Capitol in Sacramento. The oath was administered by Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-63). The 13th Assembly District encompasses the San Joaquin Delta communities of Stockton, Tracy, Thornton, and Mountain House.

“Today I took an oath to work tirelessly for the people who elected me to serve them in the State Legislature. It’s an honor to represent Assembly District 13,” said Villapudua. “From working on issues like Education, to Transportation, from job creation to our homeless crisis, I’m looking forward to representing our community in Sacramento.”

Carlos Villapudua served on the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors from 2008 – 2016. As a supervisor, Carlos was able to help turn around the County General Hospital to save healthcare in the county allowing for good paying jobs and proper care to the residents of San Joaquin County.

Born and raised in Stockton, Carlos attended Stockton schools and continued his education at Delta College and graduated from Sacramento State University earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services. Carlos and his wife, Edith, live together with their blended family.
