Dignity’s Alcove, Veterans Resources a Top Concern

For immediate release:

STOCKTON – Assemblymember Carlos Villapudua (D-Stockton) released the following statement today in response to the temporary closure of Dignity’s Alcove.

“I have been deeply concerned about the forced temporary closure of Dignity’s Alcove due to the lack of upkeep by the building manager. This type of neglect is completely unacceptable. Dignity’s Alcove has nobly served veterans in our area with 24-month transitional housing and services such as rehabilitation and relapse prevention, time management, and money management courses. These heroes who have fought for our freedoms deserve more respect than these circumstances that led to this closure.

“My District Office is continuing to monitor the situation closely and has been collaborating with officials at the City and County levels, the California Department of Housing and Community Development, and Dignity’s Alcove directly to evaluate appropriate channels to pursue. This is an all-hands-on-deck situation to provide the needed solutions.”
